Snowiest Day On Record: When Bucks Co. Saw Most Snowfall
With winter only one-third over, will Bucks County break the record for snowiest day, which happened in 1983?
Only a few centenarians may remember April 15, 1921 — the day it snowed 76 inches in Boulder County, Colorado. But quite a few folks are probably still around who remember Bucks County's snowiest day.
The snowfall record for a single day in Bucks County was no joke, according to an analysis of government weather data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
In Bucks County, the biggest one-day snowfall was Feb. 12, 1983, when the Doylestown station recorded 22 inches of snow.

Historical weather data from NOAA shows every state in the country, even tropical Hawaii, has seen snow. A February 1936 storm that dumped 6 ½ inches of snow on Maui was impressive even by Midwest and Northeast standards. The only other time that Hawaii had an extreme snowfall was in December 1958, when the Big Island got 4 ½ inches.
With two months of winter left, there are plenty of chances to break those records. The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicted a cold, snowy winter throughout much of the United States, with at least seven big snowstorms from one coast to the other.
The competing Farmers’ Almanac predicts that the eastern two-thirds of the United States can expect a snowy ride through the rest of the winter.
Forecasters had originally said we'd have another chance of snow this weekend in the Philadelphia area. But, as of Saturday morning, it looked more like we'll just be looking at some heavy rain.
The National Weather Service forecast called for a 100 percent chance of rain in the Philly region on Saturday, with the rain mainly coming before 4 p.m. Skies are expected to clear Saturday evening into Sunday, which should be mostly sunny with a high around 45 degrees.
The coming week should see at least partly sunny skies each day, with highs in the low to mid-40s, according to the forecast.
