Street Road Ramps To U.S. 1 Closing Next Week

In Bensalem, the northbound and southbound ramps will be closed for more than a week for construction at the interchange.

BENSALEM, PA — The ramps from Street Road onto U.S. 1 in Bensalem will be closed for more than a week for construction work on the interchange.

Both the eastbound and westbound ramps will be closed and detoured some time after 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, PennDOT announced Friday.

The closures will be for reconstruction of the interchange. It's part of work rebuilding and improving a 1.3-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bensalem.

During the ramp closures, eastbound and westbound Street Road motorists will be directed to use Old Lincoln Highway to access northbound U.S. 1.

In addition to the ramp closure, single-lane closures will be in place periodically on U.S. 1, Street Road and Bristol Road on Sunday, Jan. 19, through Friday, Jan. 24, from 8 p.m.-6 a.m.

Those work locations are:

  • Northbound or southbound U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway
  • Eastbound or westbound Street Road between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way
  • Bristol Road between Belmont Avenue and Old Lincoln Highway. Traffic will be controlled by flagging.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns are expected to occur.
