BENSALEM, PA — Rescue crews were on the scene near the district courthouse in Bensalem on Monday, after heavy storms knocked a tree down onto a car, trapping someone inside.

According to Bensalem Fire, crews were called to the 3200 block of Bristol Road for a report of a tree on a vehicle. According to the report, there was a person trapped inside the car.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the person in the car Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning after a storm with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail was spotted moving through the region.

Severe storms were located just after 2 p.m. along a line extending from the Chalfont area to Plymouth Meeting. The storms were moving east at 5 mph.
