U.S. 1, Street Road Lane Closure Schedule For Next Week

In Bensalem, construction work on the widening of U.S. 1 will continue. Here's when traffic might be backed up because of it.

BENSALEM, PA — Lanes will once again be closed overnight next week on U.S. 1 and Street Road in Bensalem.

The closures will be for roadway and bridge construction related to an ongoing project to widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bensalem, PennDOT said.

The work schedule is as follows:

  • Sunday, Nov. 10, through Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. single lane closures will be in place periodically on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway
  • Sunday, Nov. 10, through Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. the following morning, eastbound and westbound single lane closures will be in place periodically on Street Road (Rt. 132) between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way
  • Monday, Nov. 11, through Friday, Nov. 15, from 8 p.m.-6 a.m., either northbound or southbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane between Rockhill Drive and Fairhill Avenue (south of the Belleview Avenue exit) for soil testing operations

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns are expected to occur. All scheduled activities are dependent on weather.
