Watch: Bensalem Police Remember Fallen Officers

Police Memorial Week is held each year in May.

BENSALEM, PA — Members of the Bensalem Township Police Department, joined by the Police Benevolent Association, gathered Monday to remember police officers slain in the line of duty.

The memorial service was personal in Bensalem, as the department paused to remember two of its own: Officers James Armstrong and Robert Yezzi, both killed while working for the police department.

The memorial was attended by not only by police department employees, but also by elected officials including Bensalem's mayor, council members, along with the Bucks County District Attorney and state officials.

"It has been a crazy year to say the least, especially for the men and women, the 900,000 law enforcement officers throughout the country, the 1,000 officers that serve bucks county and the 100 plus officers that serve Bensalem Township," Director of Public Safety Frederick Harran said during the memorial. "Through all this, we can never forget two names, and that's why we're here today."
