Winter Weather Advisory Across Philly Region For Overnight Snow

One to two inches of snow is possible overnight tonight. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been announced across the Philadelphia region. One to two inches of snow is possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Residents should be prepared for snow covered-roads and limited visibilities.

The National Weather Service says the advisory begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday and goes through 10 a.m. Thursday. It is in place throughout Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

Slippery travel conditions are expected. "Most of the snow will fall prior to daybreak Thursday. Be prepared to add extra travel time in the morning," the NWS said in its advisory.

There will be another chance of snow Friday, the NWS predicts.

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 25. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light southwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of snow, mainly before 9am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 6 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Friday: A chance of snow showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Light southwest wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday Night: A slight chance of snow showers before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36.
