2019 Bucks County Designer House And Gardens Selected

The 2019 Bucks County Designer House and Gardens has been selected. An Empty House Party is Feb. 24, before the big makeover.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The 2019 Bucks County Designer House and Gardens has been selected.

This year's Designer House & Gardens is Peppermint Farm in Hilltown Township. It's a 30-acre farmstead that features a 1860 farmhouse with six bedrooms, a bank barn, milk house, pool house and more. It is located at 2613 Hilltown Pike, and is currently listed for sale for $840,000.

The Bucks County Designer House & Gardens is an annual home makeover event that serves as fundraiser for the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown.

"This farmhouse features unique built-ins, deep curved window sills, exposed beams, random width wood floors, stone floors, and two covered porches," Bucks County Designer House organizers explain on the website.

The series of events surrounding the home's makeover and subsequent tours begins on Sunday, Feb. 24 with an Empty House Party. Following the Empty House Party, Peppermint Farm will be made over by a team of designers.

The Empty House party will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. and will feature light refreshments, wine tasting, and raffles.

"See the house before the designers, landscapers and boutique owners work their magic. Meet our talented 2019 Design Team and view their vision for transforming Peppermint Farm," the event announcement said.

Tickets to the kickoff event are $30. You must purchase in advance by clicking here; no tickets will be available at the door. Empty House Party attendees can purchase reduced-rate tour tickets at the event.

An Opening Weekend Gala is set for Friday, April 26, and tours will be held from April 28 to May 26. The Opening Weekend Gala starts with a champagne reception from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the main event from 7 to 10 p.m.

The "lavish gala" will celebrate the opening of the home. It will be catered by Jamie Hollander Gourmet with entertainment by The Chatterband. Tickets start at $165. All gala attendees will also receive tour tickets. Click here for details.

This year's Designer House And Gardens events will help fund capital and equipment needs for Doylestown Health's new Center for Heart and Vascular Care.

"Building necessary facilities commensurate with the high level of care will allow Doylestown Health physicians and nurses to stay at the forefront of healthcare delivery," according to information from event organizers.
