4 Charged With Assault, 3 Arrested For DUI: New Britain Crime Report

The New Britain Township Police also made an arrest for gift card fraud at the Giant Store and retail theft at the CVS Pharmacy.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA ? The New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28:

January 4

  • During the early morning hours, police on patrol observed a suspicious occupied vehicle in Veterans Park located off of New Galena Road. The sole operator was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody for DUI.

  • The detective division initiated a fraud investigation originating at the Giant Food Store in late November 2024. On Jan. 16, detectives identified and charged a suspect with fraud offenses related to placing fraudulent gift cards on the store?s gift card rack.

January 18

  • Patrol responded to Mavis Discount Tire on West Butler Ave. for a fight no longer in progress. An altercation occurred between two employees and the aggressor was charged with related offenses.

  • Officers responded to an address off of North Limekiln Pike for a disorderly person. On arrival, the an individual was identified and police discovered they had an active warrant out of Berks County. The individual was taken into custody and remanded to the Bucks County Prison to be extradited to Berks County.

January 29

  • Detectives received information from the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Unit for an offender failing to register as required. After a three-month investigation a warrant was issued for the offender. The individual has since been arrested on these charges.

February 2

  • Police were dispatched to Lexington Avenue for the report of a domestic assault. Police identified a juvenile offender. They were taken into custody without issue and sent to the Bucks County Juvenile Detention Center.

February 10

  • A woman called 911 reporting that she was in a vehicle being assaulted by a domestic partner. Responding officers located the vehicle at the Wawa on West Butler Avenue. The suspect was taken into custody on related charges.

February 20

  • Bucks County Police Radio dispatched officers to a home on Lenape Drive for the report of a domestic assault. During an investigation, a suspect was identified by patrol. Police also discovered that one of the individuals had violated their pre-existing probation. They were taken into custody and were further cited for assault offenses.

February 22

  • The patrol division was dispatched to Suzy?s Lounge located on County Line Road for a single vehicle traffic accident. The driver of the involved vehicle was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody for DUI.

February 23

  • Police responded to the area of New Galena Road and Trewigtown Road for a vehicle roll over traffic accident. The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and they were taken into custody. The driver was charged with DUI.

February 28

  • In early November 2024 patrol initiated an investigation at the CVS on Ferry Road and Swamp Road for the theft of $2,232.37 in merchandise. The investigation resulted in the identification and arrest of a suspect.

During this tour the patrol unit handled 33 traffic accidents, 61 alarm calls, 147 medical emergencies, 42 abandoned 911 calls and 1,457 crime and traffic accident prevention details. In total, 805 calls for service were reported.
