AM Radio Tribute Band Turns On The 60s, 70s In Doylestown Township

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA ? The Thompson Performing Arts Series continues on Wednesday, August 2 with the music of 60s and 70s at the C&N Amphitheater in Doylestown's Central Park.

The AM Radio Tribute Band will take the stage with a free 7 p.m. outdoor performance featuring such hits as "Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head," "Country Roads," "Close To You," "Day Dream Believer," "Cover of the Rolling Stone," "A Hard Day's Night," "Don't Be Cruel," and lots more.

"Be prepared for a ride in the way back machine as we emulate the sounds, voices, appearances, slogans, images, and styles in authentic detail with outfits ranging from mod dress to multi-coloured flower power, psychedelic tie-dye shirts, go-go boots, long hair, and an amazing energy as you travel back to one of the most creative decades of our time," says the band. "Feel yourself begin to turn on, tune in and experience what it was like to be a part of a generation that exploded like a pressure cooker full of color, creativity, and love."

The concert series continues with ''Larger than Life," a concert spotlighting the Boyband Experience on August 9; Class Act, a dance band featuring Central Bucks School District teachers on August 17; River of Dreams celebrating the music of Billy Joel on August 23; and the Big Chill Band with classic rock on August 30.Food and beer will be available on the concert grounds throughout the series.

This year's food truck lineup includes Sally Vets and Jack & Jill (all dates), Roll M Up (August 30), Thai Jai Dee (August 16) and Jay's Joint (August 23).

The Beer Garden also will be open beginning at 6 p.m. Patrons must be 21 years or older to purchase beer and they must remain in the amphitheater with their beverages. Warwick Brewing will be on-site on August 9 and 23. Crooked Eye Brewing will be on-site August 2, 16, and 30.

up-t0-date concert series information. No outside alcohol will be permitted in the park. Central Park is a smoke-free facility.

The free series of summertime concerts is presented by C&N, Thompson, Wegmans, PECO, Pennoni, Saint Rocco's Treats, Gerhard's Appliances, Penn Color, and Doylestown DART.
