A Bucks County native was selected in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday, surrounded by his friends and family at Giuseppe's in Richboro.
Mike McGlinchey, a Warrington native and Notre Dame offensive tackle, was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the ninth pick on the first night of the NFL draft. McClinchey, a William Penn Charter School graduate, was selected as he celebrated with 150 of his friends and family at the local Italian restaurant.
NBC Sports reports McGlinchey had met with the 49ers in February, but hadn't heard anything until his phone rang while at Giuseppe’s.
