Bucks County Holds Large Event to Wrap Up National Police Week
About 200 supporters lined the streets of Doylestown to show their support for their local law enforcement.
The event started at CB West High school where a walk for our Heroes took place. The walk was then led by police escort to the administration building (the old courthouse) where the rally started. The walk brought in lots of support from the surrounding community and businesses. Cheers could be heard throughout the borough as onlookers cheered, clapped, and beeped their horns. The rally at the administration building was then kicked off with the national Anthem that was sung by one of our community members, Milo Morris. After that, several guest speakers showed their support and gratitude for all law enforcement officers, past and present. Some people speaking and in attendance was Joe Gale - the current Montgomery County Commissioner who is also a candidate for Pennsylvania Governor. Sean Gale- who is running for Pennsylvania State Senator. Fred Harran - the Chief of Police for Bensalem and candidate for Bucks County Sheriff. Stephen Corr and Amir Stark, both candidates for Judge on the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County. Andy Warren, for Bucks County Controller. Bucks County District Attourney Matt Weintraub, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, Steve Coor, Pam Can Blunk, Colleen Christian, and Dan McPhillips are among others that were in attendance.
After the speakers, a DJ played patriotic music as supporters lined the streets with their signs and flags. It was a beautiful event honoring our heroes past and present.
The second annual event was put together by Caroline Dutertre and Kristine Davies. Both of their significant others are currently active law enforcement officers. Davies and Dutertre both spoke at their event.

“This event comes at the perfect time as it concludes police week. This has been a week to reflect those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, their families left behind, their co-workers and departments dealing with such tragic losses. These heroes will live on forever and we will never forget their dedication to our country and communities. We will always honor them and we will continue to support those who serve and protect our communities.” Said Davies.
Dutertre then spoke, stating “I am constantly inspired by the extraordinary courage and dedication with which members of law enforcement act each day, putting their lives on the line to make our communities safer. To members of law enforcement and your families- we know that not a single day, let alone a single week, is enough to recognize your service and sacrifice. But on behalf of ALL of us here today, you have our unwavering support and eternal gratitude.”
