Bucks County Residents Wanted For Free Career Trainings

Are you interested in a career but don’t have the time or money to go to college to earn a degree? Are you looking for a quick and relevant training opportunity that will provide a good career and the ability to grow with your employer? Career training programs through Bucks County Community College’s Center for Workforce Development may be just what you need to find success in a new career.

Individuals enrolling in Bucks’ industrial skills and office career training programs are able to take advantage of learning a new in-demand craft while discovering different career pathways. Bucks is currently recruiting for their Award-Winning Metalwork Pre-Apprenticeship Program as well as their Microsoft Office Technology Training Program (MOTCSS).

Bucks created these programs in collaboration with local businesses due to their need for a skilled workforce. Students participate in classes led by industry experts. Additionally, students work with a career coach who assists them with resumes, interviews, and the job placement process. Bucks County Community College has been fortunate to continue offering training programs during COVID. The MOTCSS Program is entirely online while the Metalwork Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program is hybrid in order for students to learn hands-on skills while maintaining COVID-19 guidelines. Training participants are provided the opportunity and support to succeed in impactful, high demand local careers.

The Metalwork Pre-Apprenticeship FREE 12- week Training Program includes theory as well as hands-on skills training, and introduces participants to the fundamental concepts and skills required to be a machinist in the field of advanced manufacturing. Classes are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm. Interested applicants should attend a virtual information session on March 4th or March 11th. Training starts April 19, 2021.

The Microsoft Office Technology & Customer Service Certificate FREE 8-week online training program provides you with the skills necessary to work effectively in any business environment with the perfect combination of technical and essential soft skills. Classes are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 1:30pm. Interested applicants should attend a virtual information session on March 2nd or March 9th. Training starts April 12, 2021.

Residents who meet eligibility requirements are able to attend the trainings for free. Trainings are sponsored through Grant Funding via the County of Bucks and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Training to Careers Grant Program.
