Bucks County Sisters Launch Line of Country Décor Designs

Sisters Janine Bosh and Brenda Jones, owners of Piper Classics, didn’t start out in the home décor business as designers but with the success of their “Piper Originals” collections of farmhouse inspired curtains, bedding, and other home decor items, they have made their mark.

These up-and-coming Bucks County designers launched their online Piper Classics marketplace in 2003 for those who couldn’t come to their Pipersville store, offering carefully curated country, primitive and farmhouse home décor from manufacturers across the country.

Rather than continuing to sell the same items as everyone else, Janine and Brenda were recently inspired to create their first original collection of curtains, bedding, and other home decor items. Janine and Brenda’s country upbringing and creative vision led them to create “Piper Originals”, designer collections reflecting their Bucks County heritage.

“We saw a niche in the marketplace for exclusive, well-made country, primitive and farmhouse home décor,” says Janine. “Our designs evoke Americana where home is a sanctuary, and they appeal to those yearning for simpler times, when things weren't so hurried and busy.”

Piper Classics has distinguished itself in the marketplace by offering exclusive products from its own unique lines. From the “Dublin Collection” featuring grain sack fabric and buffalo checks to the “Wheat Field Collection”, an updated look to the well-crafted quilting of days gone by, all Piper Originals reflect Janine and Brenda’s creative vision.

“When we research new concepts for our original designs, my close communication with Brenda helps steer our creative vision, as we often think alike,” explains Janine. “We are delighted that our Piper Originals brand is the best-selling brand on our site.”

“Growing up in Doylestown farm country around the Chittick farm and working as teens in our parents’ country home decor store inspired our passion for vintage, farmhouse, and modern country styles,” says Brenda. “Farmhouse style appeals to many people on a fundamental level, whether they are in a cabin in the mountains, a cottage by the sea, an apartment in the city, or a home in the suburbs.”

Piper Classics, which was founded as a used furniture and antique store in Bucks County in 1977 by Dave and MaryLee Chittick, continues to reinvent itself as an online business with unique, original country decor. Although the store itself closed in 2013, Dave and MaryLee’s daughters Janine Bosh and Brenda Jones have grown their country décor business online to encompass 18 original collections, 17 employees, and a 10,000-square foot warehouse in Pipersville.
