Bucks County Treasurer Kris Ballerini Announces Reelection Bid

DOYLESTOWN, PA ? Bucks County Treasurer Kris Ballerini has announced her campaign for reelection in 2023.
First elected in 2020 with Commissioners Bob Harvie Jr. and Diane Ellis Marseglia, Ballerini came to the county with 13 years of banking experience on her resume.
?I have managed my office with a philosophy of doing more efficiently with less cost to the bottom line," said Ballerini, a former Upper Makefield Township Supervisor. "I have been successful my entire term thus far to remain under budget in my department operations.?

Among her major goals was to seek out a competitive pricing comparison for the county's banking services, which she said had never been done.
?I?m a firm believer in best business practices being adhered to," she said. "The banking relationship is a pretty critical piece of business that should have been examined by prior administrations. I am so happy that we drafted a comprehensive request for proposals and have put forth a recommendation to the commissioners as to who we should do business with. We are in final legal negotiations and I look forward to announcing soon who we will partner with."

In addition, Ballerini returned $100k in unclaimed funds that belonged to the county, some of which dated back to 1976. She also is on target to bring in $1.7 million in interest earnings, which will go directly to the general fund, she said.
