Burglary At Plumsteadville Hardware Store Under Investigation

Burglars broke in by smashing the front glass door. The store's safe and cash registers did not appear to be disturbed, police said.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA ? Police in Plumstead Township are investigating a burglary that happened March 12 at Fisher's ACE Hardware store, 5790 Easton Road.

At 4:05 a.m., police responded to an alarm at the store. Upon arrival, an officer observed the rear door closing and immediately secured the area.

A subsequent search found a smashed glass door at the front of the building, with a red shovel and a mechanic's glove found nearby. A second mechanic's glove was located on a table inside the store, police said.

The officers found no one in the building and determined that the cash registers and safe did not appear to be disturbed.

In addition to the break-in, police said they found four electric meters had been removed from the rear of the building affecting multiple businesses in the shopping center.

Homeowners in Lantern Ridge with outdoor cameras are urged to provide any footage captured on the night of the incident, as it may have captured the suspect or the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Plumstead Township Police Department.
