Central Bucks School Board Approves 30+ Staff Appointments
The Central Bucks School Board on Tuesday approved the appointment of more than 30 professional staff members.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School Board on Tuesday unanimously approved the appointment of more than 30 professional staff members, including long-term substitutes at both the elementary and secondary level.
On Tuesday, the district's virtual schooling program began at all grade levels. The virtual start came after initial plans to open for in-person learning. However, the superintendent later said a staffing shortage made it not possible for the district to accommodate the three learning options originally provided to families.
The district has since said virtual learning is likely to continue through early November.

In an August letter to the school community, Superintendent John Kopicki said the district administration was seeking to "immediately" employ personnel "to achieve our original goal of implementing all options of our reopening plan as soon as possible."
It is not clear exactly how many positions are required to be filled to do so, but 22 new jobs were posted the day after the district announced its shift to virtual learning. Those positions are no longer listed on the district's jobs portal.
