Chalfont's "The Talking Tea Cup" To Host Philly Fashion Designer

The 90-minute immersive experience will transform the tearoom into a dreamscape where three stunning fashion collections come to life.

CHALFONT, PA ? Philadelphia-based designer and Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia Wardrobe Manager Susie "Buttons" Benitez is bringing her whimsical Alice in Wonderland collection straight from London Fashion Week to The Talking Teacup in Chalfont for an exclusive fashion showcase and tea party on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m.

According to event organizers, the 90-minute immersive experience will transform the tearoom into a dreamscape where three fashion collections come to life on the runway.

Adding to the experience, each collection will be paired with its own specially curated tea plate, creating a blend of fashion, flavor, and Wonderland fantasy. Guests will savor a specialty pot of tea brewed for each collection, fresh-baked scones, imaginative tea sandwiches, and decadent desserts.

Benitez is known for her whimsical couture, sustainable practices, and size-inclusive creations. Her Wonderland line has been described as "straight out of a storybook," blending vintage silhouettes with bold colors, lush textures, and fairy-tale charm.

Her designs have been featured in Philadelphia Magazine, NBC10 Philadelphia, Philadelphia Fashion Week, and most recently walked the runways at London Fashion Week this past September.

As wardrobe manager for Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, Benitez oversees uniforms for more than 1,000 employees, designs specialty costumes and decorative displays for holidays and special events and manages the department at the world-class entertainment and dining destination. Her creative roots also run deep in Philadelphia's theater scene, where she designed costumes for Opera Philadelphia, The Kimmel Center, and The Pennsylvania Ballet.

A 2015 graduate of Albright College with a degree in costume design, Benitez's career took a major leap when her participation in an alumni fashion show earned her a coveted spot at New York Fashion Week in September 2023, where she debuted her "Buttons in Bloom" collection. Her designs have been featured in Philadelphia Magazine, NBC10 Philadelphia, Philadelphia Fashion Week, and most recently walked the runways at London Fashion Week this past September.
