Cleaning Woman Charged With Stealing Money From Warrington Home

Police have charged the 45-year-old Dublin woman with theft by unlawful taking.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA ? A 45-year-old cleaning woman has been charged with theft by unlawful taking for allegedly stealing money from a Warrington homeowner.

On June 5, police were dispatched to the 900 block of Scarlet Oak Drive for a report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the homeowner, who reported that money had been stolen from inside the residence following a scheduled cleaning service.

The homeowner told police that she suspected thefts had taken place during prior cleanings so she placed $195 in a concealed location inside the home before the cleaners? arrival. When she returned later that day, she discovered that $170 of the money was missing. The homeowner immediately contacted the police.

Officers conducted on-scene interviews with the two cleaning service employees present at the time of the alleged theft. Through the course of the investigation, police said one of the cleaners ? a 45-year-old woman from Dublin ? admitted to stealing the money.

On July 23, the woman voluntarily turned herself in to the Warrington Police, where she was processed and released pending further court proceedings.
