Cooling Centers Open Across Bucks Co. Amid Excessive Heat

To assist those seeking refuge from the heat, cooling centers will be open to the public in Upper, Central, and Lower Bucks County.

DOYLESTOWN, PA ? Bucks County has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Wednesday, July 30.

To assist those seeking refuge from the heat, cooling centers will be open to the public in Upper, Central, and Lower Bucks County.

The following cooling centers will operate during the hours listed:

  • Benjamin H Wilson Senior Center, 580 Delmont Avenue, Warminster, 18974. Call 215-672-8380. Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Bensalem Senior Citizens Center, 1850 Byberry Rd., Bensalem 19020. Call 215-638-7720. Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Bristol Borough Senior Center, 301 Wood Street, Bristol 19007. Call 215-788-9238. Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Bristol Township Senior Center, 2501 Bath Road, Bristol 19007. Hours: 9 a.m. ? 6 p.m.
  • Morrisville Senior Service Center, 31 East Cleveland Avenue, Morrisville 19067. Call 215-295-0567. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Quakertown Masonic Lodge, 501 W. Broad Street, Quakertown 18951. Call 267-450-5191. The lodge, which is not handicapped accessible, does not allow children, animals or service animals. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Riegelsville Borough Hall, 615 Easton Road, Riegelsville 18077. Call 610-749-2726. Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties ? Fairless Hills Branch, 601 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills 19030. Call 215-949-3400. Hours: 5 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 9 p.m.
  • YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties ? Warminster Branch, 624 York Road, Warminster 18974. Call 267-387-9622. Hours: 5 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 9 p.m.

During this heat emergency, additional cooling centers may be open throughout Bucks County, including senior centers and other facilities that are not currently part of the county?s cooling center program. Check your municipality's social media and website for cooling centers that are not listed here, but that may be closer to you.

The county issues an Excessive Heat Warning when the National Weather Service forecasts daytime temperatures will reach 95 degrees by 11 a.m. on two or more consecutive days, or when heat indexes will reach 100 degrees on any given day.
