District Administrators, Parents to Meet About Principal's Leave

Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday night in the Paul W. Kutz School gymnasium

The Central Bucks School District has set up a meeting Wednesday evening with Paul W. Kutz Elementary School parents to discuss Principal Jeanann Kahley’s leave of absence.

Kahley took a personal leave and has been out since Feb. 26, according to the district. Parents have reached out to district administrators in recent weeks after receiving an e-mail from the district about Kahley’s leave of absence.

David Bolton, who is the district Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education, notified parents about Wednesday’s meeting through e-mail. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Paul W. Kutz Elementary School in Doylestown.

In an e-mailed statement, which was sent to Patch, Bolton wrote, ”There will be a meeting for Kutz families to learn more information regarding Dr. Kahley’s leave and the plans in place to support the students, teachers, and families moving forward. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.”

District Community Relations Assistant Melanie Sullivan said that Central Bucks Superintendent David Weitzel will also be in attendance.

Since Kahley’s leave, Kate Fantaskey, who is the assistant principal at Groveland Elementary, is filling in at Kutz Elementary.

In a previous e-mail, Bolton told parents, “There is unfortunately no new information to share regarding Dr. Kahley’s return date to Kutz. She is still out on a personal leave and I promise that I will share any additional information with all of you as soon as it is available.

“Please know that upcoming events and PSSA testing have been planned and will continue as normal. I continue to be so appreciative of the staff at Kutz, and Ms. Fantaskey, for their daily support of your children.”
