Owner Of Dog Found At Doylestown Car Dealer Comes Forward: SPCA

If five days lapses and the dog's owner does not come forward, the SPCA's medical staff will evaluate the animal for placement.

6 p.m. update: The owner of the dog has been in contact with the Bucks County SPCA and is making arrangements to come for her, according to Cindy Kelly, Bucks County SPCA director of communications.

DOYLESTOWN, PA —A dog who was found at a Doylestown car dealership Wednesday morning remained at the SPCA in Lahaska Thursday, shelter representatives confirm.

The female dog, found under a car at Thompson BMW on Swamp Road, was brought to the shelter by police.

"She is safe in our care," Bucks County SPCA Director of Communications Cindy Kelly said Thursday morning. Kelly confirmed the shelter has not yet been contacted by the dog's owner. The dog did not have tags and is not microchipped.

The dog, who weighs about 15 pounds, is on a "stray hold" for five days, Kelly explained.

If the five days lapses and the dog's owner does not come forward, the SPCA's medical staff will evaluate the animal for placement.

If you are the owner of the dog, contact BCSPCA as soon as possible by phone or in person.

"We take our role of reuniting pets and owners very seriously," the SPCA said. To pick up the pet, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Photo ID showing current address
  • Proof of ownership such as current pictures, adoption or ownership papers, microchip or other registration ID and/or veterinary records.
