DOYLESTOWN, PA — Back in December, a little dog named Kady was found abandoned at a Doylestown car dealership.

The dog, who was taken by the Bucks County SPCA, is now ready for a new home. The small senior dog had health issues, and was found at Thompson BMW on Dec. 4.

Since that time, she's blossomed. Her hair has regrown, her skin has improved, and her energy level is up.

The local SPCA has provided some additional details about Kady's journey:

During the nearly three months she has been with us, we’ve watched Kady blossom into a new dog! Three times a week she was given special medicated baths to heal her damaged skin, and every day a medicated ointment was applied to her eyes. She’s shown marked improvement since transitioning to a limited ingredient diet. Her hair has regrown over most of her backside and legs. Her coat is thicker and healthier, and her skin is greatly improved. We are happy our staff and medical team were able to provide Kady with the proper care she needed and deserved. As Kady’s health improved, so has her energy level. She’s a spunky 15-year-old who loves to go for walks, greet friends, and play with her toys. She’s now ready to retire in a forever home! She will need adopters who are willing and able to continue her daily medication, eye ointment, and her limited ingredient diet. Kady can be a little snappy for nail trims and treatment. We believe Kady would do best in a quiet adult home.

The SPCA said it recommends a meet and greet with other dogs in the home here at the shelter. Call the Lahaska shelter to make an appointment. Lines are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The number is 215-794-7425.
