Doylestown Family Urges Congress to Support Arthritis Issues

O'Donnell Family, including 6-year-old Meghan, visited the nation's capital to share he story of living with painful symptoms of arthritis.

A Doylestown family went to Capitol Hill to ask Congress to create and support legislation and policies to help people with arthritis.

Victoria and John O’Donnell, along with their 6-year-old daughter Meghan, traveled to Washington, D.C. on March 23-24 for the annual Arthritis Foundation Advocacy Summit to share Meghan’s story of living with painful symptoms of arthritis.

The disease affects 300,000 children, including 11,500 in Pennsylvania alone, according to the Arthritis Foundation.

During the summit, Megan urged Congress members to support legislation that will give all patients more affordable access to life-changing medications and create a stand-alone arthritis program within the Department of Defense to meet the growing needs of veterans and military personnel.

The family also asked Congress to recruit new members to the Congressional arthritis Caucus.
