Men's Team

The Doylestown Rugby Men’s Team won the MAC Championships (Division 2 Club) by defeating Raleigh 47-14 on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Founders’ Field in Pittsburgh. The Dragons are back-to-back MAC champions, having also won the title last year. Try scorers for Doylestown were” Bruce Dolan (4), Dave Kornock (2), and Matt Hartwell (1). Dylan Hamilton kicked 6 conversions. Bruce Dolan was the Man of the Match. Raleigh had 2 tries and 2 conversions. Next up for the Dragons is the USA Rugby Eastern Club Championship round on May 18-19, 2019 in Spartanburg, SC.

High School Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby High School Boys’ Team lost to Conestoga in a home match on Sunday, May 5, 2019. The final score was 27-15. Try scorers for the Dragons were: Ryan Hieber (1), Juan Campos (1), and Michael Richards. Conestoga had 3 tries, 3 conversions, and 2 penalty kicks. Next up for the Dragons is a semi-final match in the RugbyPA State Championships.

The Doylestown Rugby High School Girls’ Team defeated Downingtown in an away match on Sunday, May 5, 2019. The final score was 45-7. Try scorers for Doylestown were: Tiyanna Hooker (3), Ayla Bleznak (1), Keeley Boell (1), Merrin McSorley (1), and Nina Mason (1). Nina Mason also kicked 5 conversions. Downingtown had 1 try and 1 conversion. Doylestown will play State College in a home match on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the Maennerchor Field, 3650 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Youth Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Youth Boys’ Team shut out Cumberland Valley 61-0 in an away match on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Try scorers for the Dragons were: Cooper Tyksinski (2), Jack Campbell (2), Matt Cleland (2), Lucas Wicen (1), Gavin Koch (1), and Cade Aivazian (1). Matt Cleland kicked 7 conversions and Ethan Harding kicked 1 conversion. The Men of the Match were Cooper Tyksinski and Teddy Gilroy. Next up for the Dragons is a semi-final match in the RugbyPA State Championships.
