DOYLESTOWN, PA — Just as President Donald Trump's victory in Pennsylvania was decisive in the outcome of the 2016 presidential election, so was former Vice President Joe Biden's in the Keystone State on Saturday.

The Associated Press and other major news outlets called the race for Biden on Saturday, climaxing a heated battle for control of the White House, unfolding during a pandemic that has claimed the lives of more than 230,000 Americans.

The state's 20 electoral votes were enough to push Biden over the required 270 votes needed to win the presidential election.

Both Doylestown Borough and Doylestown Township leaned Democratic in 2016 and 2020, but not to an extreme degree, according to voter tallies from the Bucks County Board of Elections as of Monday afternoon.
