Women’s Team

In an away match on Saturday, October 5, the Doylestown Rugby Women’s Team defeated Phoenixville in the final minute of the match, 24-20. Captain, Sam Reeves, led the scoring with 2 trys. Sara Ross and Elyse Garcia also each scored 1 try. Katie Walston made 2 conversion kicks. The Woman of the Match was Nikki Fairman. The Lady Dragons next play James River in Virginia on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

High School Girls’ Team

On Sunday, October 6, 2019, the Doylestown Rugby High School Girls’ Team played in the fourth tournament of the RugbyPA High School Girls’ Fall 7s Series, which was hosted by West Shore in Mechanicsburg. Two teams were entered in the tournament, Doylestown 1, which went 4-0, and Doylestown 2, which went 3-1. Doylestown 1 defeated North Bay 1 in the first game. The final score was 24-0. Sophia Linder had 3 trys and Nina Mason had 1 try and 2 conversions. In the second match, Doylestown 1 defeated West Shore Red 25-7. Try scorers were Nina Mason (2), Sophia Linder (2) and Maddie Doyle (1). In the third match against Bishop Shanahan, Doylestown 1 won 29-0. Sophia Linder and Nina Mason each had 2 trys and Molly Thiebeau had 1 try. Nina Mason kicked 2 conversions. The final match was a win for Doylestown 1, with a final score of 17-10 over North Bay 1. Trys were scored by Nina Mason, Grace McCullough, and Maddie Doyle. Nina Mason kicked 1 conversion. Doylestown 2 defeated North Bay 2 in their first match. The final score was 19-12. Tamia Freeman scored 2 trys and Reaghan King had 1 try and 1 conversion. Maddie Doyle also kicked 1 conversion. Doylestown 2 lost the second match to Kiski, 19-0. In the third match, Doylestown 2 defeated Chambersburg, 41-5. Try scorers were Sydney Haddon (2), Michaela Opdyke (2), Belle Poole (1), Reaghan King (1), and Tamia Freeman (1). Reaghan King kicked 3 conversions. The final match for Doylestown 2 was a win over West Shore Blue, 19-10. Tamia Freeman, Michaela Opdyke, and Elli Miller each had 1 try. Reaghan King kicked 2 conversions.

High School Boys’ Team

On Sunday, October 6, 2019, the Doylestown Rugby High School Boys’ Team played in the fourth tournament of the RugbyPA High School Boys’ Fall 7s Series, which was hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove. The boys finished 2-3 for the day. In the first match, Doylestown defeated Schuylkill Valley 19-5. Tries were scored by Dalton Reinheimer, Nakai Miller, and Tom Fitzpatrick. Dalton Reinheimer and Tom Fitzpatrick each kicked 1 conversion. Doylestown fell in the second match to Bishop Shanahan 35-0. In the third match against the Maryland Roosters (Bethesda), Doylestown lost by 1 converted try. The final score was 19-12. Scoring tries for the Dragons were Dalton Reinheimer and Joe Mignon. Tom Fitzpatrick kicked 1 conversion. The fourth match was a big win over Malvern Prep, 34-10. Try scorers for Doylestown were: Joe Mignon (3), Tom Fitzpatrick (2) and Nakai Miller (1). Dalton Reinheimer and Tom Fitzpatrick each kicked 1 conversion. In the final match of the day, Doylestown combined with Malvern Prep to play Turks Head. Turks Head came out on top, 36-19. Doylestown players who scored tries and/or conversions in that match were Tom Fitzpatrick and Dalton Reinheimer.
