Youth Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Youth Boys’ Team punched its ticket to the Pennsylvania State Championship Final (RugbyPA) by defeating Berks in a Semi-Final match on Sunday, May 12, 2019. The final score of the match, which was played at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, was 32-12. Try scorers for the Dragons were: Matt Cleland (2), Lucas Wicen (1), Jack Campbell (1), Collin Goetter (1), and Reagan McCullough (1). Ethan Harding kicked 1 conversion. The Man of the Match was Collin Goetter. Berks had 2 tries and 1 conversion. Doylestown will play Blackthorn in the Pennsylvania State Championship Final (RugbyPA) on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Penn State (Berks campus), in a bid for a second consecutive championship. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.

The Doylestown Rugby High School Girls’ Team defeated State College in a home match on Sunday, May 12, 2019. The final score was 94-12. Try scorers for Doylestown were: Tiyanna Hooker (6), Nina Mason (4), Sophia Linder (2), Ayla Bleznak (1), Keeley Boell (1), Bella Poole (1), and Reagan King (1). Conversions were kicked by the following: Nina Mason (5), Sophia Linder (1), and Grace McCullogh (1). Next up is the Pennsylvania State Championship (RugbyPA) competition on May 18 and 19, 2019 at Penn State (Berks Campus), with the Semi-Finals scheduled for May 18, 2019 and the Final match set for May 19, 2019.
