Doylestown Supervisors Tell Developers Old Sycamore Can't Be Removed
The tree is located on land where developers plan to build 36,000 square feet of retail space

Doylestown Township supervisors told developers of the proposed Pavilion at Doylestown that an old sycamore tree at the site can not be cut down, The Intelligencer reports.
The report states that the tree’s diameter is 59 inches, which according to the township code, cannot be cut down. The tree is estimated to be at least 125 years old.
The development, which would be built near Route 313 and York Road, would include a pharmacy, an urgent care facility, a child-care center and 36,000 square feet of retail space on 17 acres, according to the report.
