Doylestown Woman Receives Jail Sentence for Allegedly Forging Checks

A Doylestown woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing more than $11,800 from an employer, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.
The report says Linda Piper, 58, a former bookkeeper for Earthbound Topsoil in Upper Southampton, was sentenced to six to 23 months in Bucks County prison and seven years of probation for forging checks.
Piper reportedly was caught committing similar crimes in 2008 when she was sentenced to three to 23 months for theft and forgery.

According to the report, Piper paid $7,000 in restitution before leaving the courtroom on Wednesday, but the total amount of restitution has yet to be finalized.
