Doylestown's Empanada Mama Named 'Best Of Philly' Winner

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown's Empanada Mama makes the area's best empanadas, according to the 2019 Best of Philly rankings released this week by Philadelphia Magazine.

The Doylestown spot, located on Donaldson Street, was praised for its "surprising varieties" like cheesesteak, spinach and artichoke dip empanadas.

The business, which opened in 2014 in the Doylestown Marketplace, has since moved to a storefront at 21 Donaldson Street. Owner Kendall Bajek serves up a variety of dishes, including empanadas, salads, and more. Here is the menu.

Bajek spent six years surrounded by Latin American culture while living in Miami and Buenos Aires, Argentina. "She developed a passion for Latin food, and began learning authentic recipes and cooking methods from anyone that would invite her into their kitchen," she says on her website.

She also operates Nourish by MAMA, offering fast and healthy options made primarily from unprocessed, non-GMO and organic ingredients.
