Former Doylestown Man With 'Legendary' Humor Passes Away At 39

Bill Long's humor was legendary, as anyone who knew him would attest, his obituary says. The father of 4 died this month at 39.

Obituary via Decker Funeral Home:

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William P. Long Jr., on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. He blessed us with his presence during his 39 years here on earth, and now is at eternal rest in the presence of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Bill was born in 1978 in Abington, Pa. to William P. Sr. and Paula Long. He grew up in Hatboro, Doylestown and most recently, lived in Northeast Philadelphia with his wife and children.

He attended Drexel University and made a career in architectural design. Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Haley, Lily, Ethan and Vivienne; his parents, Bill and Paula of Doylestown; his sister, Stephanie (Matt) of Dover, N.H.; and a large extended family.

Bill lived a life surrounded by love, for his beloved wife, Margie, and their four children, all of whom he adored. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time on his boat in the Chesapeake Bay exploring and fishing in the area. He had many, many interests including building, designing inventions, the shooting range, technology, learning how anything, either mechanical or electrical, worked, and love of country, to name a few. He also loved his pets and being surrounded by nature. Bill was a self-taught artist.

He spent many enjoyable hours in the company of his extended family and dear friends from all walks of life. His humor was legendary, as anyone who knew him would attest. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Maternity BVM Church in Philadelphia. Interment will be held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, directly following the Mass.
