BUCKS COUNTY, PA — After a goose and horse were rescued from a horrible situation in Bucks County, they've become inseparable.

The story of Waffles, a miniature horse, and Hemingway, a farm goose, has captured the hearts of people from around the region.

The pair were originally rescued back in July from a brutal hoarding situation in Hilltown Township. Waffles and Hemingway were among numerous animals living in unsanitary conditions. Animal cruelty charges were filed against the property owners after the animals were rescued.

In the ensuing weeks, Waffles and Hemingway have only grown closer, to the point where when they ultimately go up for adoption, they won't be separated. Wherever they find a home, they'll find it together, as it's become clear that they don't want to be without one another's company.

The SPCA calls them "a pair of unlikely animal friends that have made quite the impression on our staff and volunteers."

"These two have been through a lot together and we cannot wait for them to find a loving forever farm," the SPCA said.

Waffles is not quite ready for adoption, rescuers said, but once he is cleared, information will be made available by the Bucks County SPCA.
