Grey Nun Academy Announces New Head of School
Deborah Kost, an experienced and well-educated administrator, will officially begin new position in July.

Grey Nun Academy announced that Deborah Kost has been chosen as the new Head of School effective July 1.
Kost has held the top position at several schools including Plymouth Meeting Friends School, The Janus School in Mount Joy, and Haddonfield Friends School in New Jersey.
Before beginning her professional life, Kost attended elite higher learning institutions including Lehigh University, Columbia University’s Teachers College in New York and Villanova University where she received a K-12 Principal Certificate with a concentration in Educational Policy and Leadership. She also worked as Assistant Director at Yale University’s Center for the Study of Learning and Attention Disorders.

“I believe my professional background, education, and abilities will enable me to lead Grey Nun Academy with faith, integrity, and vision,” Kost said in a press release. “I look forward to getting to know faculty, administrators, students, and families at Grey Nun Academy and adding value to what is already one of the finest independent learning institutions in the greater Philadelphia region.”
“Deborah’s educational background gained from her training and experiences at Columbia, Lehigh, Villanova and Yale Universities, and her strengths as a teacher, grade dean, department chair, dean of students, and head of school made her the most outstanding candidate for Grey Nun Academy’s Head of School position,” said Bob Needle, who is a Grey Nun Academy Board Member and search committee leader.”

Kost will begin a consultative role for the Yardley school beginning the week of April 13 working with Interim Principal John Mundy to help with the transition.
“I remain committed to seeing Grey Nun Academy through this transition process, and working closely with Deborah to integrate her into our GNA community,” Mundy said in a press release. “I have no doubt she will help GNA achieve the fullest attainment of its mission and vision to become the Catholic, independent school in Bucks County.”
