Hops/Scotch Crafts Up State Street Players Signature Drinks

A unique marketing partnership between a popular Doylestown bar and the long-running annual variety show

Hops/Scotch (22 South Main Street), the immensely popular hot-spot known to pay homage to craft cocktails through old school classics and their uniquely inspired cocktail program, has created several new cocktails inspired by the State Street Players 2020 version of their annual show.

The State Street Players Signature Drinks are inspired by several skits in this year's show, running March 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2020, at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Auditorium, 225 E Ashland St, Doylestown.

  • The Lawrence Welk: Boardwalk Gin, Lemon Juice, Demerara Sugar cubes, Champagne
  • The Hickory Daiquiri Doc: Black Cat Rum, Spiced Pineapple Syrup, Lime Juice
  • Dick Clark's Bandstand Boogie: Boulard Calvados, Barrow's Intense Ginger Liqueur, Pomegranate Juice, Champagne
  • Dracarys: Old Overhold Rye Whiskey, Lemon Juice,Honey, Drambuie, Cinnamon, Fire

Each drink is just $9 throughout the three-week run of the State Street Players show. Patrons need only present their SSP ticket at Hops/Scotch.

State Street Players' 42d Annual Assault on the Performing Arts is entitled Today Is Yesterday's Tomorrow...and other deep thoughts . According to Director Eric Nitschke, "the audience will recognize many songs from the past through today, plus some classic TV and movie scenes they wouldn't have expected," he said, adding that song-and-dance routines are interspersed with comedy skits, heavy on physical and satirical humor.
