BUCKS COUNTY, PA ? Utah-based The Picklr will open its first indoor pickleball club in Pennsylvania on Saturday inside a former Bed, Bath and Beyond Store at the Newtown Shopping Center at Durham and West roads.

While Bucks County welcomes The Picklr to town, it is saying goodbye to another TGI Fridays location in Bensalem. The once popular restaurant chain has closed its Bensalem Township location, the second closure in Lower Bucks County over the past few months.

The Picklr To Open In Newtown on Saturday

The Picklr will open its first indoor pickleball club in Pennsylvania on Saturday, Feb. 8 in Bucks County. The 35,000-square-foot club - located inside a former Bed, Bath and Beyond store at the Newtown Shopping Center - features 11 oversized, fully fenced indoor courts; a full pro shop; and private event space. To welcome the community to its facilities, The Picklr Newtown will host a grand opening event on Feb. 8 from 12 to 4 p.m. including all-day open play, play with an instructor, catered food and drink station, raffles and prizes. TGI Friday's Closes Bensalem Location

TGI Friday's has shuttered its Street Road location in Bensalem as the national chain goes through bankruptcy procedures. Posters on Bensalem's Facebook community pages reported that the restaurant closed its doors last week. Patch called the eatery to find its phone number disconnected in trying to reach the local location. The closure marks the second for the eatery in Lower Bucks County. Read More.

Soulberry Natural Market Teams Up With Kin

The popular New Hope-based Soulberry Natural Market is teaming up with the Kin Wellness and Support Center in Buckingham as Kin's official food program sponsor. Kin provides free support to cancer patients and their caregivers. In addition to providing free local, organic healthy food to power Kin's Food Program, Soulberry will whip up quarterly cooking demonstrations spotlighting a local chef who will prepare a healthy and delicious dish in front of a live audience comprised of cancer patients and their caregivers. Everyone in attendance, usually between 15 and 20, will have the chance to sample the dish and leave with the recipe and a bag filled with the raw ingredients used in the cooking demo, allowing them to replicate the meal at home. Meglio Pizzeria Named Newtown 'Business Of The Year'

Meglio Pizzeria, known for its wings, wood-fired pizza and chicken tenders, has been named ?Business of the Year? for 2024 by the Newtown Business Association. The award was one of a handful of recognitions the organization doled out during its Winter Awards Breakfast held inside the Historic Newtown Theatre. The Business of the Year award is presented annually to an ?exemplary? NBA-member business for helping fulfill the NBA?s mission of promoting Newtown as a great place to live, shop and work. Five Ponds Golf Course Clubhouse Contract Approved

Upgrades to the Five Ponds Golf Course are in full swing after the Warminster Township Board of Supervisors approved a contract for the design of the clubhouse at its recent meeting. Kimmel Bogrette Architects of Blue Bell presented clubhouse design plans for the golf course at the Jan. 16 meeting. Supervisors then unanimously approved a $39,500 contract for master concept planning. READ MORE
