Kahley Attends Kutz Elementary School Meeting About Her Leave of Absence

Central Bucks School District reportedly investigating grievance against principal

A meeting organized by the Central Bucks School District Wednesday night to discuss Principal Jeanann Kahley’s leave of absence with parents, also included an appearance by Kahley, allegedly going against an agreement she had with the school’s superintendent to stay away from school staff, according to The Intelligencer.

The report says, Kahley disrupted the meeting, and was escorted from the school’s gymnasium by a police officer. She was joined outside by some parents and supporters, where she spoke to the group.

The school had announced that Kahley took a personal leave of absence on Feb. 26, and addressed the matter with parents through e-mails, including an invitation to attend the meeting at the school’s gymnasium.

According to District Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education David Bolton in an e-mail sent to parents, the meeting was organized, “for Kutz families to learn more information regarding Dr. Kahley’s leave and the plans in place to support the students, teachers, and families moving forward. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.”

The district is reportedly investigating a Central Bucks Education Association grievance against the principal.

In a video posted on The Intelligencer Web site, Kahley, said “I came tonight because I thought I could get some information.” She also said she agreed to take a leave of absence because, “I didn’t want to taint the investigation.”

Kate Fantaskey, who is the assistant principal at Groveland Elementary, has taken over Kahley’s duties at Kutz Elementary.
