A Look Ahead: Egg Hunt, Opening Day of Fishing Season

A look at upcoming events and meetings this week in Doylestown.

The following is a listing of events and meetings scheduled this week in Doylestown:

Fish Restocking, April 1, 11-11:30 a.m.: Local children are invited the help stock the waters at Borough Dam in Chapman Park. The fish will be delivered at 11 a.m. and the children can help place the fish in the water.

Puck’s Open Mic Night, April 1, 8 p.m.: Performers gets a chance to perform a three-song set to try out their original material or covers of classic songs. David Nonini will host the event. Storytellers are also welcome to take the stage. Performers can sign up for the night at 7 p.m.

Meditation Class, April 1, 6:15 p.m.-7 p.m.: Bridge Acupuncture, located on Garden Alley, is offering a free 30-minute meditation class introducing mindful meditation and qigong visualizations. Donations are accepted, which are given to charity.

Poetry Group, April 1, 10 p.m.-midnight: The Peace Valley Nature Center on Chapman Rd, will introduce readings and gentle critique of your work, as well as enjoying the work of famous poets.

Doylestown Revitalization Board Communications Committee Meeting, April 2, 5 p.m.: The agenda for the meeting, which is held at Borough Hall, includes discussing a community survey, the “Say Hello” Program and DelVal Accepted Students Day.

Doylestown Community & Governmental Affairs Committee Meeting, April 2, 6-7 p.m.: The committee plans on discussing Arbor Day and the Native Plants Table at the Farmers’ Market, among other issues. The meeting will be held at Borough Hall.

Android’s Dream Sci-Fi/fantasy/Horror Book Club, April 2, 6:30 p.m.: Doylestown Bookshop on Main St. will host the group, which discusses all things sci-fi, fantasy and horror. The club is free and no registration is necessary.

Doylestown Environment and Recreation Committee Meeting, April 2, 7 p.m.: Issues on the agenda include PennDot Park discussion and Summer Recreation programs. The committee meets at Borough Hall.

Egg Hunt, April 3, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.: The Market at DelVal on Lower State Rd is host a day of fun that includes wagon rides, crafts and an egg hunt. Event goers are asked to bring their own bag or basket to collect six filled eggs and a prize. The Bunny will be hopping in too! Cost is $8 per child and $3 per adult.

Community Seder, April 3, 8 p.m. and April 4, 8:15 p.m.: Lubavitch of Doylestown is sponsoring a Community Seder at Central Bucks Ambulance on East St. on Friday and Saturday nights. Costs for the event is $36 for adults and $18 per child.

Opening Day of Borough Dam Fishing, April 4, 8 a.m.: Children ages 16 and under fish free on the opening day of Borough Dam fishing season.
