DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown is bringing back its Pedestrian Zone this weekend. A portion of N. Main Street will be closed on Friday and Saturday for enhanced shopping and dining.
The Pedestrian Zones, planned on various weekends downtown since June, are aimed to draw people into town to support local businesses hard-hit by the coronavirus shut downs. Main Street between State and Court streets is scheduled to close from 5 p.m. to - 11 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
"Given the success of the Pedestrian Zones, the Borough anticipates the efforts continuing as we navigate the road to recovery following the impacts of COVID-19. Businesses and government officials are working hard to ensure that these efforts remain safe to the community and do not create unnecessary risk," the borough said in an announcement.

"By opening up the roads, opportunities are created for businesses with otherwise limited space, or capacity, to expand their operations in a safe and socially-distanced manner," the borough said in its announcement.
Outdoor seating for local restaurants and shopping opportunities will be increased throughout the entire downtown.
