Nearly 3K Coronavirus Cases, 47 Deaths Reported Thursday In PA

HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania on Thursday set a new record for the highest single-day coronavirus case increase since the pandemic began.

Pennsylvania reported 2,900 additional positive cases of COVID-19 Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 220,566 cases.

"This is the highest daily increase of cases," the Department of Health said. The tally broke the previous record, set just Tuesday when 2,875 new coronavirus cases were reported.

Also Thursday, 47 new deaths were reported bringing the statewide death toll to 8,937.
