North Plaza Reopens At The Middle Bucks Institute Of Technology

North Plaza is part of a larger capital project to modernize the building so that MBIT can deliver another 50 years of learning.

JAMISON, PA ? Officials from the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology gathered in early November to celebrate the completion of North Plaza, a newly designed space for the school and community to gather.

?We are thrilled to open our newly renovated north plaza to our school community," said MBIT Administrative Director Dr. Mark Covelle. "The north plaza is part of a larger capital project to modernize and improve our building so that we can deliver another 50 years of world class career and technical education to the communities of Middle Bucks.

"We are grateful for the support of our Executive Committee and our four member districts: Centennial, Central Bucks, Council Rock, and New Hope?Solebury," he continued. "This project is more than a renovation; as a career and technical center, students will have the opportunity to use the new space for collaboration and integration in their program areas of study. Students in the horticulture, landscape and design program will learn skills alongside their instructor, Greg Smith, and facilities manager, Warren Anders on how to design and enhance the space with landscape design.

?It is my absolute pleasure to have represented MBIT through the creation of our renovated main entrance plaza. The fresh new design is safer, more functional as well as visually appealing. Special thanks to contractors, faculty and staff, as well as the transportation directors and students who made the process swift and free of issue," said Anders.

The MBIT experience provides students with a blend of classroom theory, technical applications in state-of-the-art laboratories, and off-campus work-based experiences. Students learn and apply reading, writing, mathematics, science, communications, and technology in a way that has personal meaning and career relevance.

The educational program is organized around five broad career pathways and offers 21

state-approved career programs. MBIT prepares today's students for tomorrow's emerging technologies and with the competitive edge needed for employment in a global marketplace and success in college.
