Plans For Revolutionary Trail In Bucks Co. Awarded Grant

BUCKS COUNTY, PA ? A plan to develop a Revolutionary Trail in Bucks County in celebration of the nation's 250th birthday in 2026 has been awarded 5,000 from America250PA.

The funds will be used by Bucks250PA to develop a printed and digital map experience that encourages exploration of Bucks County?s historic sites, supports heritage tourism, and expands access to underrepresented stories from the American Revolution.

?We are excited to contribute to Pennsylvania?s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence ? and to engage our neighbors in meaningful ways that reflect our shared values while pointing toward a hopeful future,? said Teresa Androutsos, Vice Chair of the Bucks250PA board. "Throughout 2026, Bucks250PA aspires to commemorate the history of Bucks County and the Commonwealth, including the history of its Indigenous Nations and contemporary connections.

Cassandra Coleman, the executive director of America250PA, was on hand in front of the historic Court Inn, Newtown, to present a grant to the Bucks250PA for its Revolutionary War Trail project. Joining her are Paul Bencivengo, President/CEO, Visit Bucks County; Dan Griffin, President, Newtown Historic Association; Jennifer Martin, Executive Director, Friends of Washington Crossing Park; Cassandra Coleman, Executive Director, America250PA; Teresa Androutsos, Vice Chair, Bucks250PA; Rose Winchell, Chief of Staff, State Senator Steve Santarsiero; Shirley Lee Corsey, Founder, Gather Place; and Marjan Shirzad, Chief Operating Officer, Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle.
