Public Invited To Take A "Holiday Lights Meander" Through Fonthill
Every year, the inside of the Doylestown landmark is transformed into a winter wonderland with 15 festively decorated trees.

DOYLESTOWN, PA ? There is still time to take in the beauty of the season at Fonthill Castle's Holiday Lights Meander.
Visitors are invited to take the 2023 Holiday Lights Meander tour at their own pace on Saturday, Dec. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 31. Knowledgeable tour guides will be available along the holiday route to answer questions and make this an experience to remember for the whole family.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday with time slots beginning every 10 minutes. On Sunday, Dec. 31, tours will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $20 (adults), $15 (BCHS members), $10 (youth ages 6-17), and $5 (children 5 and under). The castle, located at 525 East Court Street, Doylestown, was once the home of Henry Chapman Mercer (1856-1930). Today, the National Historic Landmark is operated by the Bucks County Historical Society. Every year, the inside of the castle is transformed into a winter wonderland with 15 festively decorated Christmas trees that will delight the whole family.
Fonthill Castle?s interior features Mercer?s renowned, handcrafted ceramic tiles designed at the height of the Arts and Crafts movement, and the castle serves as an early example of reinforced concrete architecture with 44 rooms, 200 windows, and 18 fireplaces.
