First Restaurant Week Has its Inauguration
'Dine Doylestown' hosts a kickoff party Wednesday to launch Doylestown's first Restaurant Week (April 14-20) and to raise money for the marketing campaign.

The signs for Restaurant Week (April 14 – 20) are prominently displayed in the windows of shops all over the borough.
The event is sponsored by "Dine Doylestown," a consortium of restaurants in the community organized to promote, obviously, dining in Doylestown.
"People know Doylestown has great cultural attractions, the government center and lots of shopping," said Mike Mike Markowitz, owner of Hickory Kitchen and one of the organizers of Restaurant Week. "We also want to focus attention on Doylestown as a destination for dinning."

The event already has a new Facebook page and website for Dine Doylestown. All it really needs now is food and patrons.
That’s what the Kickoff Party on Wednesday is all about. The party, at Chambers Bistro & Bar, is open to all restaurant owners, merchants, friends, family, and the general public, with 20 percent of the sales for the event being donated towards the Dine Doylestown Restaurant Week Marketing Fund.

"Doylestown has a vibrant restaurant scene with lots of options," Markowitz said. "We are really eager to come together to promote ourselves."
The kickoff on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. is a chance to rub elbows with local restaurateurs while also partying and supporting the event. It’s a foodie trifecta.
Nearly 30 restaurants will offer special menus and rates from April 14 through 20. More information is available on the Dine Doylestown website.
