Retail Theft, Multiple DUI Arrests Reported In New Britain Twp.

During a traffic stop, officers recovered a firearm in which the driver was prohibited from possessing.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA ? The New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests during the month of November:

November 5

  • Officers responded to the Line Lexington section of the township for a report of a Protective Order Violation. Information was collected and a person was charged with related offenses.

  • Patrol was in the area of Suzy?s Lounge when they observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot with multiple occupants. After approaching the vehicle, the driver was found to have an outstanding warrant. The driver was arrested and transported to Bucks County Prison.

November 8

  • The staff of the Wawa located at 525 West Butler Avenue called police to report a retail theft. The suspect was identified thanks to tips from the public and they were charged with summary retail theft.

November 11

  • While on patrol in the area of County Line Road and Maple Avenue officers conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a vehicle. The driver was found to be impaired and under the influence of alcohol. The driver was taken into custody and later released pending further proceedings.

November 15

  • In the early morning hours, officers responded to a 911 call for a disturbance at a residence in the area of Willow Wood Drive off of Upper State Road. A suspect was taken into custody on charges of assault and booked into Bucks County Prison.

November 24

  • Officers conducted a traffic stop on driver in the area of West Butler Avenue and Schoolhouse Road for fake temporary tags on the vehicle. Inside of the vehicle officers recovered a firearm in which the driver was prohibited from possessing. They were taken into custody without issue.

During this tour, the patrol unit handled 24 traffic accidents; 30 alarm calls; 53 medical emergencies; 22 abandoned 911 calls; and 440 crime and traffic accident prevention rirected patrols. In total, there were 885 calls for service.
