A meeting was held at Kutz last night (Wednesday) to present information regarding Dr. Kahley’s leave and to discuss the plans to provide full-time administrative support. I wanted to provide an overview of that meeting for those parents who were not able to attend.

1. In late February, Dr. Weitzel received a formal complaint from the teachers’ union asking him to investigate a harmful pattern of administrative bullying and harassment leading to a hostile work environment at Kutz.

2. In discussing the complaint with Dr. Kahley, it was agreed that she would not be at Kutz during the investigation, would have no contact with the Kutz community, would take paid sick time, and the absence would be described as a brief personal leave.

3. Ms. Andrea DiDio, the district Human Resources Director, is conducting interviews with all Kutz teachers, support staff, and any other district staff that ask to speak with her. Those interviews are still being conducted.

4. It was initially hoped that the investigation would take a few weeks but it has not been completed at this time.
