Services Set For Bucks Co. Police Chief Who Passed Away Suddenly

Services have been set for ​Steven Hillias, the Perkasie Borough Police chief who passed away Sunday at the age of 49.

PERKASIE, PA — Services have been set for Steven Hillias, the Perkasie Borough Police chief who passed away Sunday at the age of 49.

Services will be held Saturday in Coopersburg, with visiting hours on Friday and Saturday. Full service details are in his obituary.

Hillias, an Upper Saucon resident and father of two, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital, his obituary said. He reportedly experienced a sudden illness. The Lehigh County coroner ruled Hillias died of natural causes, The Morning Call reported.

He served Perkasie Borough's Police Department since 1997 and was promoted to chief of police in 2014. Additionally, he was a master craftsman in woodworking, and loved to ski and golf, his obituary said. "Steven enjoyed aviation with his son and visiting amusement parks with his daughter and most of all spending time with his wife and family," his obituary said.

He will be "forever missed," the Perkasie Borugh Police department said in a statement. "R.I.P. Chief, may you look down upon all law enforcement and provide us guidance and safety."
