Teen Shot, Seriously Wounded At Entrance To Nockamixon State Park

An 18-year-old has life-threatening injuries after he was shot at the park's Old Ridge Road entrance.

QUAKERTOWN, PA — An 18-year-old man was shot at the Old Ridge Road entrance to Nockamixon State Park near Quakertown on Saturday, according to authorities in Bucks County.

Pennsylvania State game wardens and state park rangers found the victim while patrolling the park around 5:15 p.m., the Bedminster Township Police Department said in a news release.

The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. An update on his condition was not available as of early Sunday afternoon.

A witness saw a man in hunting gear leaving the area after the shooting, police said. A description of any possible suspect has not been released.

Police units from throughout the county did not find a suspect after using a K9 and a state police helicopter in the search.

The Pennsylvania State Police and detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office are assisting Bedminster Township police in the investigation.
