DOYLESTOWN, PA — More street closures are planned in Doylestown Borough as a way for local shops and restaurants to expand their outdoor offerings.

This Friday and Saturday evening, a portion of W. State Street in Doylestown Borough will be closed for the latest in a series of pedestrian zone events.

"These recurring events have brought much-needed support to local businesses during an especially challenging time. As we enter the Fall, the Borough plans to continue with street closures as long as weather permits," borough officials said in an announcement Monday.

From 5 to 11 p.m. both days, W. State Street from Hamilton to Court streets will be closed.

"These remain difficult times for our small business community and your support is as important as ever. Business owners and the Borough are working hard to ensure visitors have a safe and responsible experience," the borough said.

Face masks are "strongly recommended" while not seated at restaurants and social distancing must be observed.

Drivers should expect temporary traffic detours.
