The firearm was secured, and there was no evidence that a shot had been fired. A check of the residence also revealed no signs of a disturbance or assault.

The 54-year-old man, who was identified as the homeowner, appeared heavily intoxicated and had a small cut on his finger, which accounted for blood found on several nearby surfaces, including a neighbor?s vehicle and his own residence.

An investigation determined that the incident began earlier when the man was removed from a local establishment and given a ride home. During that time, police said he became belligerent toward the individual who drove him home.

According to police, the firearm in his possession was unloaded.

The man was transported to the Warrington Township Police Department for further evaluation and later released to a responsible party.

Police said there was no indication of foul play or any ongoing threat to the community. No charges have been filed, although police said the incident remains under investigation.
