Winter Storm Watch Issued In Philly Area For Weekend Storm

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A winter storm watch has been issued in the Philadelphia region for a storm expected Sunday.

Heavy snow is possible, the National Weather Service said. More than 5 inches of accumulation is possible. "Travel could be very difficult," the Weather Service said.

The watch begins at midnight on Sunday and goes through 4 p.m. The following suburban Philadelphia counties are under the watch: Bucks; Chester; Delaware; Montgomery, and Philadelphia.

According to forecasters, snow will move in overnight Saturday night from southwest to northeast and may fall heavy for a time into Sunday morning before winding down from west to east by the mid to late afternoon.

This comes days after Eastern Pennsylvania experienced the most severe winter storm in years, with more than 30 inches of snow falling in some parts of the region.
